Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend?

The Stellar VBS curriculum is designed for children Kindergarten through Grade 6 (ages 4-12). Children must be entering Kindergarten through entering Grade 6 after VBS to be able to attend.

If your child is younger, come out and volunteer! We will have childcare available for your younger kids at no cost. If your child is older (in junior or senior high), we would love to have them volunteer as well! this is a great way to get involved for any age!

What will my kids do at Stellar VBS?

The children will be placed into small groups and assigned two team leaders, so they can get to know each other through the week and make some new friends! There will be the typical VBS stations, including Crafts, Games, Snacks, Story time, and even a water day!

There will be opening and closing times with worship music and stories. Your kids will spend each morning learning about the greatness of God in many different ways!

What should my child bring?

Please ensure your child brings a hat and wears sunscreen, as we will be playing outside each day (pending the weather’s cooperation). We CAN NOT apply sunscreen to your children, so please ensure they either arrive with it already applied.

If you want to send a water bottle with them, please ensure it is clearly labelled with their name (have them bring a backpack to store the water bottle). Kids will also be expected to wear their Stellar VBS shirts each day (shirt will be given out at registration on their first day).

When is the registration fee due?

The registration payment is processed when you register your child online.

The registration fee includes all activities, supplies, Bible book, crafts, and snacks.

Registration fees will not be refunded after July 1.

How do refunds work?

First Naz Kids has to plan ahead and pay for supplies according to the number of kids who are registered. We can refund your child’s registration fee prior to July 1. If you have any questions about this, please contact Pastor Laurel.

What if my child has a medical condition?

When registering your child you will be asked to fill out the medical concerns section for each child. If your child has a medical condition that requires them to carry medication on their person (for example, an inhaler for asthma), parents will be required to fill out a separate medical form on their first day of camp. Your child’s team leaders will carry the medication through the morning (so your child doesn’t need to keep track of it through morning). If you have any concerns about any medical needs or allergies, please contact Pastor Laurel.

Can a child with special needs attend VBS?

Yes! Please contact Pastor Laurel so she can ensure your child is properly supported through the stations and has a great time!

Are scholarships available?

Yes, partial or full scholarships are available, as generous donors have given money to assist children in attending VBS. To apply for a scholarship, please contact Pastor Laurel.

Can my teenager volunteer?

Yes! We would love to have your teen help out with our VBS. We have a place for them on our team no matter their skill set or experience.

What are the volunteer requirements?

Volunteers must be available all five days of the week. We want to encourage building relationships between the kids and their leader, which happens best when the leader is consistent. Adults who can only volunteer for a couple days are welcome, but will not be able to be team leaders. All volunteers will need to complete our Kids Ministry volunteer paperwork and must either be an attendee of First Naz or be a parent/guardian of a registered child.

All volunteers must be attendees of First Naz and complete all volunteer onboarding and training before camp begins on August 21. Background checks (including a Vulnerable Sector Search) are required of all adult volunteers and are provided at no cost. Contact our Director of Operations for more info.
