Tammy Hyde-Mosher

Pastor to Families with Children

Tammy’s parents introducing her to multi-cultural, multi-generational ministry from a very young age. As the daughter of a minister, she grew up singing, speaking and evangelizing her community. Her first career was in the field of mental health where she facilitated teen and family therapy groups and taught self advocacy skills to marginalized individuals.

Tammy is blessed to have been a stay-at-home mom. It is the most rewarding, terrifying, remarkable, amazing, hard and joyful experience of her life! She loves being a parent and has raised her kids with hearts of compassion and devotion to God. Tammy has been married to Stacey for eight years.

She enjoyed being Women’s Ministry Director for over 10 years; leading weekly bible studies, social gatherings, retreats, banquets, mentoring and community outreach. She greatly enjoyed the friendships and spiritual connection with other women.

She is passionate about Small Group Ministry. In 2004 she began a small group for young families in her home with a radically different approach, and took this small group approach to 2 other churches as well, seeing exponential growth. In 2017 she wrote an interactive workshop about starting small groups and led seminars for leaders on how to start small group ministries in their own churches. Most recently Tammy was the Small Group Director at a large church here in Alberta.

Tammy graduated from Burman University in 2018 with a bachelors degree in Religious Studies and a minor degree in Counselling Psychology.

She also loves preaching, and has preached at Women’s Conferences, singles retreats and Youth events right across Canada.

Tammy has ministered to kids as Children’s Pastor in Edmonton for 1 year, spoken at youth and kids retreats and summer camps nationally and launched a mentorship group called “Becoming” for girls age 11 to 18. Tammy also served as Family Pastor in Ottawa for 2 years before coming to First Church.

Tammy enjoys glamping and canoeing, board games and adores entertaining in her home with potlucks, campfires, game nights, craft-er-noons and Bible studies.
